On the Sample Registration page
Labmanagers do this configuration on the Sample registration form itself. Click the Manage Form Fields link on the form
Please note that many screenshots here still refer to Samples as Analysis Requests or ARs. This term has been phased out from mid 2019. Screenshots still to be updated

Select the fields you want on the form and drag them up or down to position them, and click Save

The Sample registration form renders accordingly
The selection is then applied throughout the system until the attribute list is edited again. All new Samples thereafter will be created in the new form. Historic ones keep their original shape

These are the fields rendered at Sample creation time. Further down the workflow path to eventual Verification and Publication, more are added e.g. sequential LIMS Sample IDs, date times, method, instrument, result & unit, analyst etc.

Analyses on the Sample
Results and their associated data are captured per individual Analysis. The Analyses on a Sample are created from the Analysis Services configured earlier. The Analysis inherits the Analysis Service's attributes such as Unit, Method, Detection Limits etc.
